Opening: Review what we knows about the moon and then complete a chart in their scientists notebook comparing the earth and the moon.
Engagement: Go over a PowerPoint that introduces and discusses in detail the other planets in our solar system. The students are expected to engage in class discussion during this time. When we are finished reviewing the PowerPoint the students will be asked to fill out an extensive worksheet on other planets using their astronomy text book as a guide.
Closing: Review the main concepts and complete the worksheet for homework if it is not completed in class.
